Rethinking low-power testing: Why we built Otii
In the test and measurement world, the standard has long been big, specialized instruments – built for narrow tasks and often used by just a handful of experts in the lab. We saw an opportunity to do things differently, especially for low-power testing.
At Qoitech, we believe everyone on the product team should be empowered to work with power – not just the hardware specialists. Designing energy-efficient devices isn’t a solo effort; it’s a collaboration between hardware, firmware, and software teams. They all shape power consumption, which changes over time as devices evolve, get updated, or are deployed in the field.
That’s why we created Otii.

Built for the way teams work today
We designed the Otii Product Suite to make low-power testing and measurements accessible and intuitive, whether you’re a firmware developer debugging sleep modes or a hardware engineer profiling inrush current.
Our instruments, Otii Arc and Otii Ace, are compact and portable, but powerful enough to replace several pieces of traditional lab gear. They can measure ultra-low currents down to nanoampere levels, synchronize with debug logs to pinpoint power drains, and emulate batteries so you can test realistically and repeatably.
But accuracy and performance were just the start. We wanted these tools to feel usable, even easy to use – for engineers throughout the stack. That meant a clean, modern interface, cross-platform support, and features that support every stage of development, from prototyping to production.

Flexibility that grows with your project
Real-world development isn’t linear, and tools shouldn’t be rigid. We built Otii to be flexible – not only in what it can do but also in how it fits into your workflow.
With support for 20+ use cases and a modular licensing model, you can expand capabilities as your needs grow. Whether you’re doing quick benchmarks or building automated test setups, Otii scales with you.
Because we’ve made the Otii software free to download and use, it becomes a shared workspace across teams, even without hardware. Engineers, testers, and suppliers can analyze and share data without friction, wherever they are.
Why we’re doing this
Our goal is simple: help teams make energy-efficient design second nature. We know the frustration of dealing with complex lab equipment, siloed teams, and battery life surprises late in the cycle. We’ve felt it ourselves. That motivates us to keep building tools that make power measurement easier, more insightful, and more collaborative.
From all of us at Qoitech – thanks for being part of this journey.
